Thanks for visiting my website.
I'm a writer, editor and content specialist based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. Along with articles, web content design, and creative writing, I am also a bid/proposal writer, and sales and communications specialist at Springload Te Pipītanga.
Prior to writing I worked for over a decade in theatre, performing, directing, producing and marketing. For my undergrad I studied Theatre and English Literature at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington, and co-founded the award-winning experimental theatre company Binge Culture with five friends in our final year of uni in 2008. Some of the highlights of my 10+ years with Binge include co-directing and producing our street theatre show Whales, and devising and acting in the apocalyptic Drowning Bird, Plummeting Fish, the satirical parody of Pākehā culture This Rugged Beauty, and our year of Scratch Nights, where we made loose, weird, energetic short performance pieces in the BATS Theatre bar every Wednesday night.
In 2013 I went back to university for my Honours in Theatre. I wrote my Honours research essay on how colonialism impacts attitudes and audience reactions to live art in Aotearoa today.
In 2017 I completed my MA in Creative Writing at Victoria's International Institute of Modern Letters. My MA thesis was a memoir about my childhood growing up on a sailboat and travelling around the world with my family.
I live with my daughter near the sea.
